DCA to pay tribute to lives lost at 2021 “Midseason Showdown”

Drum Corps Associates remembers and honors the many lives that have been lost during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

This week — as part of DCA’s Week Four “Midseason Showdown,” a live broadcast as part of the virtual 2021 season — time will be taken out of the event to recognize these individuals. The special memorial will be narrated by longtime DCA announcer Fran Haring. 

In Haring’s words, numerous individuals who sadly passed away in the past year and a half, “have made tremendous contributions, not only to their individual drum corps, but also to DCA.”

The memorial will also be presented on Wednesday’s rebroadcast of the Week Four event, as well as during DCA’s Championships broadcast on September 5.

Five weeks remain in the 2021 summer season, including the year’s culminating event, the DCA Championships, held Labor Day weekend.
