Meet Jeremy Mensing
DCA is excited to welcome Jeremy Mensing as the newest staff member. Jeremy is a director of graphic design in real life and will be using his talent for design for DCA. If you’ve noticed the new DCA logo on the website and on Facebook that’s his first design to be used.
Though he has never participated in any DCA or DCI corps he states that, “I’ve been attending competitions since I was in diapers.” In 2006 he was a part of Hilton indoor percussion which placed 6th at the WGI championships in the PSA class. He currently works with the Webster Marching Band and indoor percussion unit at East Irondequoit High School, as a percussion instructor, in Rochester where in conversation with Allen Buell, DCA Vice President, Allen mentioned that DCA was looking for additional talent for our designs on Facebook, the Web site, and merchandise. Jeremy jumped at the chance to bring his skill as a designer to an organization that he has enjoyed as a spectator for so many years. When asked why he took the job he said, “Music and Graphic design have been a lifelong passion of mine so when I had the opportunity to pair that with an organization that I have spent my entire life around there was no way I could pass that up. Also you can’t say no to Allen!!!!!
Jeremy hopes that this is the beginning of a long and mutually beneficial relationship with DCA. He realizes there is little praise for the work and he’s more likely to hear what someone doesn’t like but he feels there will be rewards. Every time he sees a fan wearing a T-shirt or other DCA merchandise, or when his designs are used on social media he’ll know he is making a difference.
You will be seeing more of Jeremy’s work during the 2015 season.
Welcome aboard Jeremy!!!!
Eric Brust remains on staff as DCA’s Art Director dedicating his time to our website as well as our championship program.
